Combat for a cause

Posted on April 1, 2011

Fitness Beat in TECOM had a Charity Aerobathon earlier to raise money for Japan. A whole host of classes were free with the instructors donating their time to teach and all donations going straight to support victims of the earthquake.

A fantastic cause without question so I headed down to the combat class to check it out.

Body combat is fab – one of my favourite classes … I love it … and the tunes and the moves can’t help but keep you from smiling.

As for Adam, the instructor, he’s without question the most charismatic combat teacher I’ve come across as thanks to his marvellous media career, he knows how to ‘work an audience’ effortlessly. And despite there being a room full of chicks kicking, punching and bopping, Adam’s so engaging that you almost feel it’s just you and him in the studio.

Charity initiatives like this are great. We’re so spoilt in Dubai and thanks to people like Karen, the local community can do their bit. And besides, if you’re having a work out anyway, might as well make it for a great cause.

So thank you Karen & Adam … and thank you also to Katherine, Fitness Beat’s singing sensation … one to watch, especially if the likes of Dubai’s Got Talent or UAE Idol ever hit our shores!
