Pippa’s peach

Posted on August 23, 2011

Remember ‘that’ dress?  The safety-pin dress worn by Liz Hurley in 2008? (btw … my mum had that dress and post four children still gave Liz a run for her money!)

Well since then, there’s been plenty of hot bods adorning hot frocks on the cat walk and beyond but not until April this year did another ‘that’ dress grace our screens.

Sorry Kate … I’m not referring to yours but rather Pippa’s … P-Middy and that fabulously sexy dress she wore to the Royal Wedding. And although the dress was stunning in both its simplicity and design, it was her perfect peach underneath the skimming fabric that won the dress ‘that’ title.

How did she perfect her peachy posterior?  With good old Pilates.

Joseph Pilates’ famous quote sums it up, ‘In 10 sessions, you will feel the difference. In 20, you will see the difference. And in 30, you’ll be on your way to having a whole new body.’

As for me, although I tend to dip in and out of Pilates, I am a great believer that it ‘cheats’ you to a dancers body and unlike some other sports or activities which tend to masculinise the body, Pilates just seems to enhance your shape and give you a P-Middy-style bod that oozes sex appeal from head to toe.

And whilst sculpting booties to die for it also improves your posture and flexibility, reverses the aging process in your joints, relieves stress, treats back pain and strengthens your core amongst a myriad of other attributes. An exercise regime that transforms you so powerfully should surely never be overlooked!

With this in mind, I went to check out a Breathe Believe Pilates class last night. Yvette is the very awesome lady who brought Intensati to our shores so I knew that I would love her class … and indeed I did. When you have a teacher, of anything in life, who truly loves what she does, it transcends the entire class and makes the whole room glow.  Yvette does this.

Pilates is no miracle cure for anything – it requires commitment, patience and a whole lot of focus on getting the breathing right. But if there’s just a small chance that it will give me a peach like Pippa … in fact, Yvette herself could also be a top contestant for Rear of the Year … then I shall try to dip in and out a little more.
