Seek & ye shall find!

This morning at Flow Yoga, as our legs were screaming after being immersed in Warrior 1 for what felt like an eternity, Bram said to think about what we were doing yoga for … why we came to the class.  Just because it’s ‘cool’?  A fad? Because everyone at work does it? Is it to improve your fitness, flexibility or core strength? Or to relax and escape? Or  perhaps to learn to completely connect as well as disconnect the mind and the body?

I thought about this afterwards and realised that yes, everyone has different reasons for doing yoga.  There’s no right or wrong as such but what is important is just identifying YOUR reason.  Why YOU do it, what YOU hope to get out of it and how it makes YOU feel …

Much then like the most important question in our lives … that being, ‘what is our purpose?’.  What do we WANT out of life? What do we want to achieve?  How would we love to be remembered?  What really flicks our switch?

Same again.  No right or wrong, just a question of identifying your own answers which unfortunately isn’t always so easy.  It took me a long time to identify my own answers and it certainly meant a lot of compromise, sacrifice and streamlining along the way.

Sadly, most people just chug along the train of life never questioning their direction or their true purpose which in my eyes is a life wasted. So … let this be your thought for today … what is YOUR purpose?  What makes you want to get out of bed in the morning and what makes you go to bed at night with a feeling of satisfaction and contentment.

Seek and ye shall find!

And once found, forget convention, ignore what others may think and let go of your fears and strife …

because that my friend is the only way to do justice to this really amazing life!
