… to start the month …

So it’s the first of May. Scary but true! The start of a new month, just like a new week or a new year is the perfect opportunity to take stock and improve habits or introduce new ones.  And this May?  It’s the month to be mindful!

Mindful in May is a worldwide community initiative that combines the benefits of meditation with the opportunity to support the developing world with clean water. When you register on the Mindful in May website , you receive a month-long meditation programme and your donation, plus any additional fundraising you wish to do, goes straight to the cause to support the world’s water crisis.

So … as today is the 1st of May, visit the site now and sign up. In the UAE for one, we live pretty hectic lifestyles. With that, brings stress and toil which can be beautifully reversed with a little mindful meditation each day. Take time for yourself because we’ve got one body and we’ve got to live with it for the rest of our lives. It takes 21 days to form a habit so who knows, you might just get hooked and continue to benefit for much longer than just the month.

And for any of you ‘meditation sceptics’ out there, no it’s not some weird spiritual practise … no you don’t need to burn incense and wear hippie pants … and no it’s not just for chicks trying to ‘find themselves’.  Meditation is for everyone.  It benefits us all whether you’re a hot-shot CEO, a lady who lunches or a twenty-something in your wild child years. It’s for young and old, guys and gals, rich and poor, spiritual or not. It doesn’t cost a penny but brings you priceless benefits so as a marketeer by background, I can’t help but think this meditation malarkey demonstrates the perfect ROI (return on investment)!
